After your ITA: the 60-day document checklist

An Invitation to Apply starts a fixed clock. This checklist summarizes the document families IRCC most often requests — use it to prepare before you need it, then confirm the exact list inside your own application account.

List is final authority

Your personalized document checklist appears in the IRCC portal after you accept an ITA. Requirements can differ by program (CEC, FSW, FST), dependents, and country of residence. Treat this page as a planning outline — not a substitute for that list.

Identity and civil status

  • Passport bio page and any previous passports used for travel or status
  • Birth certificate (and marriage/divorce certificates if applicable)
  • Digital photo meeting IRCC specifications

Police certificates

  • Certificates for every country where you lived 6+ consecutive months since age 18
  • Apply early — some countries take weeks or months to issue certificates
  • IRCC specifies validity windows; expired certificates are a common resubmit trigger

Medical exam

  • Upfront medical from an IRCC panel physician (when instructed or as part of your prep)
  • Bring government ID and any glasses/contacts; follow the clinic's instructions for eMedical

Work and education proof

  • Reference letters matching IRCC format: duties, hours, dates, and contact details
  • Pay stubs, T4s, or other evidence if IRCC requests corroboration
  • Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) if your profile used foreign education points
  • Language test results still valid on the day you submit the application

Proof of funds (when required)

  • Official bank letters showing average balances over the required period
  • Funds must be available and transferable; joint accounts may need extra explanation
  • Amount depends on family size — check the current IRCC table for your situation

Start before the ITA if you can

Police certificates and employer letters are the usual bottleneck. Applicants who begin those requests while still in the pool often submit cleaner applications within the 60-day window. PRLedger's checklist helps you track status — uploads stay in your Google Drive, not on our servers.
