Canadian earnings history — new $80,000 tier for Ontario EOI

Ontario's Workforce Priority Expression of Interest grid now splits what used to be one "$70,000+" earnings band. If you track OINP draws, NOI notifications, or "OINP EOI score calculator" updates, this change can move your total by up to 2 points — and scoring tweaks often show up before intake rounds heat up.

What changed (2026-10-10)

Factor: Canadian work experience — earnings history. You claim the highest annual employment income supported by a Canada Revenue Agency Notice of Assessment within the last five years. The top band is no longer a single "$70,000+" line at 8 points.

Annual earnings (NOA)EOI points
$80,000 or more10 pts
$70,000 – $79,9998 pts
$50,000 – $69,9996 pts
$30,000 – $49,9994 pts
Under $30,0000 pts

Does this mean an OINP draw is coming?

Ontario does not publish a fixed OINP draw calendar like IRCC Express Entry rounds. When the province refreshes EOI scoring — especially income bands — it often aligns with preparing for the next Notifications of Interest (NOI) under Workforce Priority. It is not a guarantee, but candidates searching "OINP draw soon" or "Workforce Priority NOI" should refresh scores, documents, and Express Entry profiles when grids change.

Canadian PRLedger emails verified users when we publish major Ontario alerts (same toggle as Express Entry draw emails). We also post hot updates on /news.

Max EOI score reminder

With the earnings cap now at 10 points (was 8), the theoretical maximum for job-offer candidates is 132 points (physicians without the wage factor: 117). Saved profiles that used the old "$70,000+" option are mapped to the $70k–$79k band until you update them in the calculator.
